Straight Talk on Worry: Overcoming Emotional Battles with the Power of God's Word! | Amazon
Straight Talk on Worry was an uplifting and very relatable book. The author was able to use some of her own experiences in life to encourage us to stop worrying and trust God. Some of the many topics discussed were using the word of God to help us as we struggle with worrying, trusting the signs God shows us and to remember that God’s ways are much better than ours. The book’s topics remind us that we don’t have to rely on ourselves. The book gave relevant scriptures to use when we find ourselves overwhelmed. I would even suggest taking note of the scriptures because there will be many times in which we are anxious and worried. We will need to turn to God to help us make it through that time period.
The author not only provides encouraging stories but also provides prayers to pray when you’re dealing with worrying. Even if someone is new in their faith, this book is a good read to get started with trusting God. The author helps to point out the “signpost” from God. The chapters are broken up into mini sections. This helps to make it an easy read. I was reminded through this book that God is there for us and will help us to get through any battle.
